0.1 · Guitar basics
How the guitar is tuned, how to read tab and chord boxes, and the names of the notes on the two lowest strings.
0.2 · First open chords
Five open chords, clean changes between them, and three strumming patterns to play them with.
0.3 · One note, three views
The same notes on piano, on guitar and as do-re-mi. Once you can see all three, every later idea has a name.
0.4 · Single notes
Simple tunes one note at a time, so the picking hand is ready for arpeggios.
1 · Position 1
Stay in the open position in E minor and G major and learn everything that lives there: chords, triads, 5ths, arpeggios, the scale, and the paths between them.
2 · Position 2
Frets 2 to 5. Bm is the hard chord of the key: here is the barre, the easier ways round it, and the drop 3 chords that build the hand for barres.
3 · Position 1 flavours
Back home in position 1, with colour: 6, 7, sus and add9 chords on the same paths you already know.
4 · Up the neck
The three remaining CAGED shapes of G, then one arpeggio and the triads followed across the whole neck.
5 · Modes
Change one note of the scale and the mood changes. Modes in E and G, and the harmonic minor that explains B7.
6 · Other keys
Everything so far was in E minor and G major. Move it to other keys, with the circle of fifths as the map.
7 · Jazz colours
Shell voicings, 9ths and 13ths, and the jazz standards that use them.
